What Do MVFF and The Oscars Have In Common? A Lot

Oscar nominations revealed today that a great many of the films presented at The Mill Valley Film Festival made the cut. As always, The Mill Valley Film Festival offered the Bay Area community the chance to see them first! We have our amazing Film Programmers to thank for their incredible taste and knowledge of what’s hot.

Here are the films nominated for Oscars that you got a chance to see at The Mill Valley Film Festival back in October 2014:

Whiplash was part of Metallica: MVFF Artists in Residence series. Lars Ulrich hosted the screening and introduced the film. Following the screening, director-screenwriter Damien Chazelle  joined Lars on stage for a conversation.
