I’M A CFI MEMBER, IS THERE A DISCOUNT ON [email protected]?

All films on [email protected]’s streaming platform offer member pricing, just login with your member number! Not a CFI Member?

Many of our distribution partners are offering discounted member pricing as well. This will be noted on the films’ pages.

Be on the lookout for your weekly Member Discount email which will list all of the titles for which discounts are available.

Some new releases we offer are only available through the individual distributor’s platform. Unfortunately, these platforms are unable to offer member pricing. A portion of your rental on these platforms does help to support the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center – and if you’d consider an additional donation to the California Film Institute you can do so HERE.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY MEMBER DISCOUNT ON [email protected]?

The viewing window varies by film, so look out for your weekly Member Discount email that will detail if a promo code or private link is needed. 

All films hosted on the [email protected] streaming platform will require that you login using your member number and last name.

If you are unsure of your member number, refer to the weekly Member Discount email or reach out to [email protected]

WHY AM I NOT SEEING MY MEMBER DISCOUNT?

If you are already logged in as a CFI Member and you don’t see a member price ticket option, you may be required to log out of your account, return to the [email protected] film page, and then log back in.

GIFT MEMBERSHIP

CFI Memberships make great gifts, and now many at-home benefits can be enjoyed no matter where you live! Go to this page to review membership benefits. Enter the recipient’s information under the shipping info and your information will go under billing. An email will be sent to the recipient once processed. If there are special instructions of which we need to be aware, please email us at [email protected].

ARE MEMBERSHIPS TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?

All member levels are tax-deductible. Starting at the Director’s Circle level and above there is an estimated tax-deductible portion. Check the levels & benefit page. You’ll receive our tax ID# with your confirmation of purchase.

WHAT IS THE VALUE TO UPGRADING MY MEMBERSHIP AND HOW DO I UPGRADE?

A higher-level membership affords you additional benefits and privileges. More screenings, more access, more great film!

HOW CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT MEMBERSHIP CARD?

While the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center is temporarily closed, we’ve suspended mailing new member cards. New member cards will be mailed when it is safe under city and county guidelines to reopen the theater.

WHAT ARE FREE MEMBER SCREENINGS?

We are very lucky that many film studios work with CFI to offer free film screenings for our members to get the word out about films. While the Smith Rafael Film Center is temporarily closed, all member screenings will be made available via free online streaming. These are screenings exclusively for members, and availability is honored on a first-come first served basis.

HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT FREE MEMBER SCREENINGS?

An email invitation is sent to active members, based on the number of free streams available as determined by the film studio or rights owner. The invite will indicate the timing, viewing platform, and any restrictions for watching the film. 

Screening invitations are non-transferrable.

WHY AM I NOT GETTING MEMBER EMAILS?

You may not be receiving invites because of the following:

  • Not all members receive every email
    • Not all members are invited to all member screenings, for example. To get invited to more member screenings, you might want to consider upgrading your membership
  • We don’t have your email address or it is incorrect in our database
    • email us to confirm
  • Your membership has expired
  • You  have unsubscribed to CFI emails
    • Re-subscribe! Visit rafaelfilm.cafilm.org, go to the bottom of the page to the ENTER EMAIL box, type in your email and follow the instructions
  • Your email provider is blocking our emails or sending them to your junk/spam folder

WHEN CAN I BUY TICKETS TO THE MILL VALLEY FILM FESTIVAL?

MVFF tickets go on sale to members before the general public. And even further, MVFF tickets go on sale to members by membership level. The higher your membership, the earlier you get to purchase. A great reason to upgrade.
