Fanny and Alexander Uncut Part 1

West Coast Theatrical Premiere

Part 1 of 2
An epic of childhood described by
Ingmar Bergman as "the
sum total of my life as a filmmaker," this has been widely seen in the
US only in its three-hour theatrical version, for which, Bergman wrote, "I
had to cut into the nerves and lifeblood of the film." In its first theatrical
presentation on the West Coast, the complete version of this masterpiece, running
over five hours, restores more than two hours of scenes that enrich the film
even further. This warm and sprawling family saga features a large cast, including
Bertil Guve, Pernilla Allwin, Allan Edwall, Ewa Fröling, Pernilla
August, Erland Josephson and
Harriet Andersson.
The film will be screened in special High Definition format
and presented in two parts,
each with separate admission. Part 1 runs approximately 170 minutes. (Sweden 1982)
