House of Wax 3D

Friday, October 25 to Monday, October 28
(Special 3D prices apply)
Certainly the most celebrated film from the 3D craze of the early 1950s, the first color 3D feature from a major studio has been digitally restored for its 60th anniversary with stereophonic sound. In a role that introduced him to the horror genre, Vincent Price stars as Professor Henry Jarrod, the proprietor of a wax museum, circa 1900, that appears to be the hub of several recent disappearances. Charles Bronson (billed as Buchinsky) is his mute henchman and Phyllis Kirk and Carolyn Jones are the objects of his artistic interests. Director Andre De Toth, a genre specialist, makes sure that the dimensional effects and "Boo!" moments keep apace with fun and flair, in this lavish and colorful thriller that remains a classic of its kind. Writer: Crane Wilbur. Producer: Bryan Foy. Director: Andre De Toth. (US 1953) 88 min.
