Good Ol' Freda

Now Playing
History notes that The Beatles were together for 10 years, but Freda Kelly worked for them for 11. Freda was just a shy teenager in Liverpool when asked to work for a local band hoping to make it big, and while people came and went as the group grew to international stardom, Freda remained a staple because of her unfaltering loyalty and dedication. As secretary to The Beatles and their manager Brian Epstein, she was there as history unfolded, and now, 50 years later, she tells her stories on camera for the first time. Freda Kelly's a charmer, and so is this film, which uses photographs, footage and music to tell The Beatles' story through her eyes, yet continually draws our attention back to her remarkable character and integrity. It's a warm and poignant time capsule, no matter how much of a fan you are. Director: Ryan White. (US 2013) 86 min.
