Marin-based filmmaker Michael Anderson, joined by his writer and lead actor, will present their touching drama
Tenderloin, which premiered at the 2009 Mill Valley Film Festival.
Kurt Yaeger stars as Ben, an Iraq war veteran who takes a job managing a residential hotel in San Francisco's Tenderloin District. Anger-management issues have separated Ben from his wife and son, and while his self-esteem has sunk about as low as it could go, he is surprised to discover kinship and compassion with the alcoholics, junkies and transvestites who live in the building and surrounding neighborhood. And as Ben carefully sets out to rebuild his relationship with his young son (
Jack Indiana), he also finds that his new life offers a road to redemption as well.
