Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Bill Guttentag (who recently presented Soundtrack for a Revolution at the Mill Valley Film Festival) will present a rare screening of his fiction film Live!, a scathing satire of reality game shows and modern media culture. Eva Mendes stars as Katy, the cynical programming head for a struggling network, who develops the most radical idea ever for a reality show: live Russian Roulette, with five contestants competing for five million dollars, on-air with a loaded gun. Depicted through the lens of a fictional documentary crew, Guttentag's dark comedy examines people on the treadmill of television production, where ratings easily trump questions of morality and ethics.
