D Tour

Bay Area filmmaker Jim Granato's terrifically moving documentary focuses on Pat Spurgeon, a talented musician whose pop band Rogue Wave began to take off just as his kidneys started to fail. D tour chronicles Pat's choice to keep touring and working toward the band's goals, as well as his formidable challenges: finding a potential organ donor, daily dialysis and minding his health while on the road. This three-year story takes several surprising turns, within and beyond the U.S. health care system, but what ultimately emerges is a poignant tale of essential humanity - not to mention plenty of great rock ‘n' roll, including live performances by Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie), Nada Surf, John Vanderslice, The Moore Brothers and, of course, Rogue Wave.
