Tengri: Blue Heavens

Temür, a fisherman on the Aral Sea, sets out to return home to his ancestral village in the Kyrgyz mountains, hoping to reunite with his father, whom he learns has passed away many years ago. Although he is viewed as an outsider, he decides to stay and engages in a love affair with an alluring married woman, Amira. When her husband returns from fighting with the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan, the lovers are forced to flee the village. Their enchanting love story plays out against a visually arresting landscape as they attempt to escape the pursuit of Amira's husband. In Kyrgyz and Russian with English subtitles.
